BACKGROUND

For the 4th consecutive time, Houdini geared up to create an awesome sales campaign slash online game for IT product distributor Tech Data, number one in their game in the Nordic countries.

CHALLENGE

This time we chose to take a step away from the interactive amusements of previous campaigns (Kickback, DiscGolf. GrandPrix) and decided instead to focus on trivia - 80s trivia to be more specific. The challenge was to create a simple, fun and addictive trivia quiz with an unmistakable 80s flair that would have people talking at the watercoolers and come back every week to try their knowledge of the cheesy decade that brought us bad music, poofy hair and super-wide shoulders.

RESULT

Houdini created a fun, fast-paced trivia game based on some 400 questions in six different categories and packaged it as a nostalgic 80s gameshow, borrowing visual attributes from the king of the 80s gimmicks: Rubik´s Cube. Again, the participants (sales people in the IT product business) flocked to the campaign and the game helped TechData secure more revenue through their e-commerce system.
