BACKGROUND

Another sales campaign forthe SMB client segment for IT-product distributor Tech Data, TD GrandPrix was released hot on the heels of previous successes Kickback and DiscGolf.

CHALLENGE

Houdini repeated the feat of building an exciting online game that could be played over an extended period of three months, keeping players hooked into the Tech Data e-commerce system. Once again, the difficulty of the game itself was mirrored by the value of the orders placed by the customers, so that the cars in the game were actually faster for clients who placed bigger and more frequent orders.

RESULT

Houdini built upon the proven formula used in Kickback and DiscGolf, where the game mechanics were fully integrated into the Tech Data e-commerce platform. The results were once again very encouraging and a substantial number of clients changed their purchasing behaviour as a direct result of the game, creating a noticeable increase in orders and better profitability for manufacturers.
