BACKGROUND

IT-product distributor Tech Data wanted a sales competition to boost spring sales for their biggest manufacturers.

CHALLENGE

Houdini were asked to develop a sales competition in the form of an online game that could be played in a minute or two, without any prior knowledge or skill. The game had to differentiate between customers based on the total value of their orders, i e: the more a customer ordered, the easier it should be to play the game.

RESULT

Houdini devised a simple yet addictive soccer game to tie in with the upcoming European championships. Customers were invited to play as different soccer players with unique ratings that affected the level of difficulty. The game was fully integrated into the Tech Data e-commerce platform.
